Who are you talking to?

Podcasting is all about being a part of conversations that require your voice. But who else is a part of that conversation? It's so important to consider who your audience is. Of course, anyone can find and listen to your show, but who are your directing your message towards? Is it other professionals in your industry? Are you looking to welcome new folks into your hobby? This will affect the language you use and the way you address the audience.

As with any product, you want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible. But be careful! Oftentimes, when you make something for everybody, you end up making something for nobody. You have to find the sweet spot between narrowcasting and throwing out too wide of a net. Then, you just need to get into the mindset of the people you're talking to and let the conversation begin!
